Without doubt one of the most renowned beings of mythology & legend are the Dragons. A species with so much history and culture, which in periods of history, has often coincided with our own. Anywhere you go in the world the Dragon will have been there before you in varying shapes or forms, always covered in mystery or romance. There are many types of the Dragon all symbolising different meanings, all with different virtues and all with people who, according to individual legend, have interacted with them. They are wise & foolhardy, destructive & healing, guardians & councellers, peaceful & wrathful. Most of all the dragon is amazing in all its forms and to study it is to get a better look at both our history and who we as a race have become. In these pages i have put together a compendium of facts and legends about the magnificent beasts. Follow the links on the left to navigate. Please contact me if you feel i have missed anything out.
Enter darkness. Leave the light.
Here be nightmare. Here be fright.
Here be dragon, flame and flight.
Here be spit-fire. Here be grief.
So curse the bones of unbelief.
Curse the creeping treasure-thief.
Curse much worse the dragon-slayer.
Curse his purse and curse his payer.
Curse these words. Preserve their sayer.
Earth and water, fire and air.
Prepare to meet a creature rare.
Enter, now, if you dare.
Enter, now... the dragon's lair!
